What color light is the best for hunting at night?
We recommend using GREEN LIGHTS FOR HOGS & Predators. Predators are least likely to be spooked by a red light. Hogs are color blind and the RED or GREEN will not bother them, unless they see their shadow. GREEN light is much easier for the human eye to see versus red light, which is why most people choose green.
We have many customers who use GREEN for all predators and report great success. Our pro staff members overall prefer the GREEN over the RED for predator hunting.

Can I get individual LED's for the VRL-1 & VRL-X? -- Yes, the VRL-1 & VRL-X do have interchangeable LED's. For example, if you order a Red VRL-1 or VRL-X and want to change it to green, you can order them off our site at the following link. http://www.varmintlights.com/led-modules
How many lumen's do your lights put out? -- Please note that there are a lot of companies that flat out lie about the amount of lumen's their lights put out and on top of that it's not all about lumen's, the reflector in the light that focuses the light has as much or more to do with how far a light will shine. All LED’s are 250 lumen unless stated otherwise.
Will cold temperatures affect the light output of your lights? No, our lights will work perfect in cold temperatures and about the only effect extreme cold temps will have is slightly less run times on the lights.
What is the life expectancy of the 18650 battery? -- In over 4 years of testing the 18650 batteries and charging them hundreds of times they still are running at about 85% capacity. The 18650 batteries will last up to 10 years.
Do you sell 3000-5000MAH 18650 batteries? -- No, the technology for the 3.7V 18650 batteries is only available at a max of 2600MAH and any company telling you different is lying.
Do I have to run the 18650 battery all the way down before I charge it? -- No, the batteries can be charged at any time and they should never be run all the way down. We suggest charging you battery after every hunt or every other hunt letting the battery run all the way down can cause damage to it.
Does the VRL-X really work and can I see pigs at 40 yards at night with it? -- Yes and on a dark night (no moon or other lights) you can see pigs out to 100+ yards.
Does the VRL-1 & VRL-X have an adjustment to get the light aimed? -- No, the VRL-1 & VRL-X series does not need an adjustment on it because it puts out such a flood of light that once you install it on your bow or rifle and you are ready to hunt.
